Valentino Rossi showed team-mate Jorge Lorenzo the way at the Cardion AB Czech Republic Grand Prix on Sunday by opening up a 50 point lead in the championship table after the Spaniard had crashed out of the duel for the lead with five laps remaining.
In front of a 140,000 crowd, the Fiat Yamaha pair had opened up a 10 second lead over the rest of the pack. With Lorenzo's youthful enthusiasm knocking hiom out of the race, Rossi took the chequered flag with his motorcycle more than 11 seconds ahead of Dani Pedrosa in second spot.
Two more Honda riders, Toni Elías and Andrea Dovizioso, battled it out for third with Elias pipping the Donnington victor to the podium.
Just behing his compatriot Dovizioso there was Loris Capirossi and Nicky Haydenposting a creditable 6th place on the Ducati Marlboro.
Hayden's countryman Colin Edwards finished in 7th place on the Monster Yamaha Tech 3, with British team mate James Toseland managing a creditable 9th.
