Of all of the products we sell on line, the trousers are the ones that are exchanged the most. Often for a larger size.
The table below illustrates the dimensions of the Scotti Knights range of motorcycle waterproof trousers. The exact sizes vary slightly depending on the style, but as a rule, if the following guidelines are followed you should receive the right fitting apparel:-
The waist measurements do not legislate for the thermal linings which reduce the size by about 1 inch (2.5cm).
Each pair of motorcycle trousers has an expansion panel at each side of the waist allowing for an additional 2 inches to the size. This shouldn't be relied on and a larger size selected if required. Remember for maximum protection for the trousers it is best that they fit snuggly to the rider.
Wearing garmets such as jeans underneath can add an additional 2 inches to the waist requirement and should be considered when choosing. Regular trousers such as those for a work suit would add an additional inch.
If in any doubt, go for a larger waist size as all of the motorcycle trousers have adjustments at the waist to reduce the size.
*Note that the Spire trousers are a snugger fit than the other sizes - order a size larger than normal. The length is also important, particularly if wearing the removable knee armour. The armour is located in an pocket in the inner waterproof lining which has a velcro flap to keep it in place. The pocket has a tolerance of about 3cm vertically so the armour can be raised by up to that amount using a stitch or safety pin.
