Based in Northamptonshire, an area of England long associated with boot and shoe production, Frank Thomas continues a tradition of craftsmanship and excellence dating back centuries. Back in 1982, when founders Peter Laughton and David Wooding started the company, the market for motorcycle clothing was very different. Motorcyclists wore black clothing generally . The first racing boot was developed in association with Team Suzuki rider Roger Marshall and, as well as being painstakingly researched, crafted and tested, was produced in Suzuki racing colours - white, red, black and gold trim. As the rest of the industry watched in disbelief, they sold motorcycle boots as fast they could produce them.
By the company had intensively researched and developed the first range of motorcycle gloves, which were produced in 8 different colours. They could scarcely keep up with demand.
